Your Kapri Robinson is DC’s 2017 Cocktail Queen. While spending her time being a bartender, educator, and event organizer, she is also the president and founder of Chocolate City’s Best (CCB), an organization geared towards connecting Black and Brown bar industry members to community, mentorship, education, and career growth opportunities. Kapri has been welcomed onto many television spotlights, such as Great Day Washington and Good Morning Washington. Kapri is one of twelve first ever Drink Masters on Netflix and has been featured in many media outlets such as PUNCH, Eater, Forbes, Washington Post, Washingtonian, Washington City Paper, District Fray, and Edible DC.
As a WSET Level 3 Spirits graduate, Kapri leads seminars on hospitality, empowerment, cocktail knowledge, and spirit history and education. She has been asked to speak on national and global stages at renowned conferences like Tales of The Cocktail, Bar Convent Brooklyn, and Bar & Restaurant Expo. In 2021, Kapri was chosen to be one of Eater magazines ten New Guard members, giving her the opportunity to speak about challenging conventions, empowering communities, and creating positive change in the hospitality industry. She was nominated as a top 10 bartender in the nation by the Tales of The Cocktail Spirited Awards in 2022, reach the top 4 bartenders in the nation for 2023, and won the award of Best American Bartender in 2024. Kapri was also recognized as Bartender of The Year by Liquor.com in 2023. She has co-created cocktail menus for Allegory, her home bar that was named one of North America’s 50 Best Bars in 2023 and won the Best Hotel Bar award from Tales of the Cocktail in 2024. Her menu won the Best Cocktail Menu award at North America’s 50 Best Bars competition in 2023.
Kapri is a co-host of Soul Palate podcast, which provides a platform to normalize Black and Brown palates. As a powerful voice in the hospitality industry, she is dedicated to spirits and cocktail education and strives to create opportunities for Black and Brown industry members.
