
Cachaça & Coffee
Espresso Martinis are popular. We're not mad about it.
- 1.5 oz Novo Fogo Barrel-Aged Cachaça
- 1 oz espresso or strong coffee
- 0.75 oz banana syrup (simmer a sliced banana in simple syrup of 1 part sugar dissolved in 1 part hot water for 30 minutes and strain)
- 2 dashes aromatic bitters
Shake all ingredients and strain into a cocktail glass.

Barrel-Aged Cachaça
Our Barrel-Aged Cachaça is distilled in 53-gallon American oak bourbon barrels that are taken apart, sanded, and re-toasted. The 2-3 year process takes place in the heat and humidity of our home in the Atlantic Rainforest. The result is banana bread with notes of chocolate, cinnamon bark, and coffee. Nuances of pepper remain, but the cachaça’s time spent in wood changes its spiciness from fresh red pepper to toasty black pepper.
Cachaça is a distilled spirit made from fermented sugarcane juice. It is the most popular spirit among distilled alcoholic beverages in Brazil.
There are two varieties of cachaça: unaged and aged. Unaged cachaça is known as “branca” (white) or “prata” (silver). Aged cachaça is known as “amarela” (yellow) or “ouro” (gold).
