Spiced Pear Sour
Fall flavors abound in a simple sour enlivened with pear juice, spiced syrup, and the unique notes of Novo Fogo Graciosa Cachaça.
- 1.5 oz Novo Fogo Graciosa Cachaça
- 1 oz pear juice
- 0.75 oz lemon juice
- 0.75 oz cinnamon syrup
- About a tablespoon of dry red wine to top
Shake everything but the red wine with ice and strain over fresh ice cubes in a rocks glass. Gently pour about a tablespoon of red wine so it floats on top of the drink.
For the cinnamon syrup:
Simmer 3-5 cinnamon sticks in equal parts sugar dissolved in water for 30 minutes. You can also use cardamom, star anise, or a winter spice of your choosing.
Graciosa Cachaça
Graciosa is a reflection of our love for the rainforest and the historic road that crosses it on its way from the mountains to the ocean. This expression is aged for 2 years in repurposed oak and finished for 18 months in castanheira do Pará (Brazil nut) barrels, lending it a vibrantly aromatic yet creamy disposition: starting with pecan and orchids on the nose, the palate morphs into cherry custard and finishes with pleasant notes of soft clove and anise.
