WATCH THIRST ON HBO MAX
On her new HBO MAX travel series, actor and entrepreneur Shay Mitchell explores the national beverages of South American countries. She visits southern Brazil in episode 4 to taste the region’s beer, wine, and, of course, cachaça.
We were thrilled to host Shay and her team at our distillery in Morretes, where we shared the full process of making sustainable cachaça in the Brazilian rainforest, from cutting sugarcane to mixing a Rabo de Galo cocktail with the final product. Shay also spent time in Ekôa Park and visited the nursery for The Un-Endangered Forest Project™ to save rare trees.
Make A Caipirinha
2 oz Novo Fogo Silver Cachaça
Half of a lime
1 tbsp superfine sugar
Remove the white pith from the lime and discard it. Cut the remaining lime in slices; toss them into the glass and muddle them with sugar until all their juice is pressed out. Fill the glass with ice. Add cachaça and pour everything into a shaker. Give it a go; pour everything (including the ice) back into the same glass.
