WE ARE FARMERS FIRST.
We operate cane fields and a distillery in a small town in the middle of Brazil’s Atlantic Forest. For us, sustainability is a balance between protecting our environment, investing in our community, and relying on them to help us achieve economic success.
- We believe in doing well by doing right.
- We believe that we will only succeed as much as those around us do.
- We believe that we can make a positive impact through leading by example.

OUR STORY STARTS WITH THE CHOICE TO BE ORGANIC.

The word “organic” is generally understood to avoid the use of chemicals; but for us it means much more. The certification includes our building, our production process, and our products.
This is hard to do, but we believe that it is the right thing to do, to preserve the health of our field team members, the longevity of our land, the terroir of our products, and the wellness of our imbibers – you.
SUSTAINABILITY YOU CAN HOLD IN YOUR HAND
Our bottle was designed for bartenders… but the inspiration for the bottle comes from the nature around us.

DRINK NOVO FOGO, PLANT TREES
We handcraft our organic cachaças in the heart of Brazil’s Atlantic Forest. Once vast and wildly biodiverse, this forest has lost nearly 90% of its original area. We started our own reforestation project and named it The Un-Endangered Forest to give back to the ecosystem that feeds our business and supports our community.
Under the scientific guidance of world-renowned forestry specialist Dr. Sílvia Ziller from The Horus Institute in Brazil, we track mother trees in the jungle, harvest their seeds, foster them into saplings in our nursery at Ekôa Park, and plant them in their forever homes across partner properties.

A CARBON-NEGATIVE COMPANY. A CARBON-NEUTRAL SUPPLY CHAIN.
Our distillery and farm are carbon-negative, but we are just a small part of our products’ life cycle. We measure emissions across our entire supply chain, from our suppliers (“upstream”) to our distributor and retailer partners (“downstream”). Then we offset what we can’t yet eliminate through high-impact reforestation projects in Brazil that restore pasture land depleted by cattle, provide new income for ranchers, creates jobs, and enhance vegetation that removes CO2 from the atmosphere.
The fragility of our world is also our inspiration. The rainforest keeps the air rich in oxygen, and our sugarcane picks up elements of our coastal mountain terroir, imparting notes that are both sweet and savory into our cachaça. Preserving the forest improves the quality of our product line and helps our business thrive.
OUR TEAM IS THE HEART OF THE COMPANY.
As a two-continent company, we must navigate geographical distances, time differences, logistics challenges, regulatory conflicts. But we choose to celebrate the richness of our team’s cultural diversity as the foundation of our values, and this makes the other things just dust balls temporarily crossing the road.

Our cane field team is the starting point for everything we do. As they are closest to the land, they set the course for the rest of the company every harvest season. Their work in the jungle is difficult, but they receive the support of the rest of the team, well above average compensation, great benefits, free meals, hydration breaks, the opportunity to work indoors during hot days, allowances for children, and a few enjoy housing on the property.

Many of our employees are equity holders in the company at no cost to them, and we are working towards 100% participation. Between founders, employees, and outside investors, 35% of the company is currently minority-owned. Cheers to more of that!

WE BUILT OUR COMPANY ON WELLNESS.
At the destination, cocktail bartenders are a spirit brand’s best ambassadors. We were the first company to bring health and wellness programs for bartenders in many metropolitan markets and became the detox crew at cocktail festivals. Today we are thrilled to witness many bigger companies finding inspiration in this mindset and supporting a better path for members of the bar industry.
